Senior center offers driving class

MENOMINEE — Community Action Agency's Menominee Senior Center, 905 10th St., will host the AARP Smart Driver Course Sept. 19 from noon until 4 p.m. and Sept. 20 from 8 a.m. until noon.

This two-day course taught by an AARP instructor can teach attendees the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and how to operate a vehicle more safely in today's increasingly challenging driving environment. People must complete both sessions to receive their certificate. Attendees are asked to check with their insurance agent to see if they qualify for a discount on auto insurance for completion of the course.

The cost for this event is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. People are asked to bring their valid Michigan Driver's License and an AARP card, if one has a card, to the event.

People may contact the Menominee Senior Center at 906-863-2158 to register for this course as space is limited.
