Jolly Times Game day to open

MARINETTE — Jolly Times Game Day is open to the public and will start again Sept. 5 after taking a summer break to play outdoors. The group meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Family Room at Zion Lutheran Church, 2714 James St., north entrance.

Games played have been pinochle, Mexican train dominoes, hand and foot, Farkle, smear and sheepshead. This is a community gathering to play cards and board or dice games. No experience is necessary to participate.

Democratic Party to meet, seeks donations

STEPHENSON — The Menominee County Democratic Party will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday at the County Annex Building, S904 U.S. 41., with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the meeting beginning at 6:30.

In addition to reports from each officer, there will be a round table discussion concerning the role that voter registration will play in the next election. All opinions and viewpoints are welcome. Plans for the upcoming fundraising dinner at the Little Nugget Golf Course Oct. 12 and the rummage sale in Hermansville Sept. 7 will also be finalized. Everybody is cordially invited to attend.

The Menominee County Democratic Party is also seeking donations of usable items for a fundraising rummage sale to be held in Hermansville Saturday, W5131 Number 41 Road.
