Teens receive national scholarship

MARINETTE — Kody and Kyle Klumb of Marinette were selected as the recipients of the Phi Eta Sigma National Distinguished Member Scholarship. Each will receive $5,000 for the 2019-2020 school year.

The Klumb brothers are active members of the UW-Green Bay Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma. Kody serves as co­-president; and Kyle as treasurer. Both are Midwest Area Regional Conference Coordinators and were attendees and speakers at the Phi Eta Sigma National Convention in Washington D.C.

The Klumb brothers are double majors in accounting and finance and have highest honors with a 4.0 GPA. Kyle serves as the president of the Student Finance Association and Kody is vice president. They are also members of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the Accounting Student Association.

Knights to hold potluck, meeting

MARINETTE — Menominee Knights of Columbus Council 646 will hold a family and friends potluck Thursday at the Holy Redeemer Parish Hall. A brief business meeting will be held at 5 p.m., followed by the potluck. All knights, families, widows of knights and friends are welcome. Attendees are asked to bring a dish to share. Everything else will be provided.

Fellowship to host summer celebration

MARINETTE — The Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, 1717 Main St., will hold its Summer Celebration Sunday at 10:30 a.m. featuring Chalk Art Evangelist, The Rev. Dwight Haynes and his family. Those attending will see and hear scripture come alive with “Bible Chalk.” Christian music will be played by Haynes and his wife, Ann. Marinette Class of 1969 to hold reunion

MARINETTE — The Marinette High School Class of 1969 will celebrate its 50-year class reunion Sept. 13 starting at 6 p.m. at the Best Western Riverfront Inn. This portion of the reunion is a casual mixer.

On Sept. 14, classmates will meet at the Best Western Riverfront Inn for Cocktails from 4 to 5:30 p.m., with the class photo to be taken at 5:30. There will be a family-style dinner at 6. The cost is $30 per person. The optional class photos will cost an additional $12.
