Marinette plans kick-off pig roast

MARINETTE — Marinette High School will hold its 2019 Athletics “Kick-Off” Pig Roast at Red Arrow Park Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. There is no charge and it's open to all Marine athletes and their families.

The event allows student athletes and their parents to gather with each other and meet the Marine coaches before the new school year begins.

Various side dishes and beverages will be served in addition to the pig roast.

Anyone interested in more information may contact the Marinette High School Main Office or any Marine coach.

Menominee County library to host grief group

STEPHENSON — The OSF HealthCare will host a community grief group at the Menominee County Library, S. 319 Railroad St., Tuesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. No registration required, open attendance offered to the community.

Photography club to meet Thursday

MARINETTE — The Marinette Menominee Area Photo Club will meet Thursday at 6 p.m. in room SC108 of the Marinette NWTC campus. Interested people should go to the back parking lot entrance and go through the double doors and straight ahead through the hall way. The meeting room is on the left as one walks through the hallway.

The group will be doing a hands-on demonstration about macro photography to assist members in learning this technique and in preparation for the September photo challenge which will be of a closeup subject.

Veterans' memorial to be in Menominee

MENOMINEE — The Remembering Our Fallen veterans' memorial is arriving in Menominee at Veterans’ Memorial Park around 2 p.m. Aug. 23. Chapter 25, Menominee County Disabled American Veterans is hosting the memorial and all volunteers are welcomed to help set up the 33 towers that will be on display to Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. There will be fish dinners after setup for volunteers.
