Band to perform at Badger Park

PESHTIGO — The Peshtigo Band Program will present its third annual summer concert performance Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Badger Park.

The program will feature a concert band, small jazz group and a jazz big band under the direction of Alex Shuffield. Concessions will be available starting at 5:30 from the Peshtigo Music Parents. People are asked to bring a lawn chair while attending this concert put on by local students.

Lutheran church offers VBS

MENOMINEE — Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 616 11th Ave., will open its doors to the children of the community with vacation Bible school which will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Aug. 9. All classes will be held at the church. The theme for the week is "Set Sail" and the class is for kids in grades third through seventh.

Family Fun day planned Tuesday

STEPHENSON — The Great Start Collaborative of Menominee County is partnering with Great Start to Quality, CASA of Menominee County, Head Start and Michigan’s Children's Trust Fund to sponsor a Family Fun Day Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Erickson Park.

There will be free children’s activities, a bouncy house, stream play and a light lunch. All children will also receive a free book, The vision of the Great Start Collaborative of Menominee County is to ensure all children are safe, healthy and eager to succeed in school and throughout their lives.

Class of 1979 to hold reunion

MENOMINEE — The Menominee Class of 1979 will hold its 40-year class reunion Aug. 30 and 31. The Ice breaker will be at Dexter's prior, during and after the M&M game Aug. 30. The reunion will continue at Murray's Aug. 31.
