Volunteer training to be held

MENOMINEE — Waterfront Festival volunteer training will be available Thursday from 1 to 6 p.m. in the city council chambers at city hall. Those who have volunteered for one of these positions are asked to plan to attend one of these sessions.

This training will be for volunteers who will be serving alcohol, checking ID’s or selling tickets at the Waterfront Festival. Legal drinking age, acceptable forms of identification and procedures in ticket and wrist band booths will be covered.

"The City of Menominee obtains a special liquor license for this event and we will comply with all rules and regulations. We also expect responsible behavior from Festival attendees and over the years that has always been the case. Festival volunteers do a great job and take this responsibility very seriously,” said Nancy Douglas, festival director.
