Accordion club to jam Wednesday

CRIVITZ — The Northeast Wisconsin Concertina, Accordion & Button Box Club will hold its annual jam Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Tony's Dockside Bar and Grill, W12327 Eagle Road. The public is welcome and admission is free. Musicians are asked to bring and play their concertina, accordion or button box.

Youth football sign-ups to be held

MENOMINEE — Marinette and Menominee Youth Football sign-ups will be Monday and Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Spies Field in Menominee. Players who registered early will need to weigh in on Monday or Wednesday from 6 to 8 at Spies Field. Draft time is July 29 at 6 p.m. with registration cut-off time for draft at 5 p.m. Anyone needing to register or weigh-in will need to wait until draft is complete. The rain date for the draft is July 31. 

Only first-year players need to be present for draft. Registration fee is $40 for one child and $20 for an additional child. Volunteers and referees are needed.

Partial change in venue for event

MARINETTE — Aurora Medical Center Bay Area’s Volunteer Services Beat the Heat Extravaganza Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. has had a slight change in venue. Because of the expected extreme heat, a portion of the event will take place inside of the hospital lobby while the rest will be at the hospital’s patio under a tent in the grassy area in front of the hospital at 3003 University Drive. Vendor and food sales will be inside while the dunk tank and children's games will remain outside.
