Women's health seminar offered 

MARINETTE — InVenture North, 1320 Main St., is hosting a women's health seminar July 24 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The topic will be journaling.

A registered nurse will provide free one-hour education on coping with stress through journaling. The presentation will discuss chronic stress and its impact on physical and mental health. Participants will be introduced to and practice journaling as a coping technique to protect their well-being. There will be a free gift for all attendees.

MAAC artists to hold exhibit, reception

MARINETTE — Five artists from the Menominee Area Arts Council will exhibit in the Theatre on the Bay art Gallery through the month of July and will hold a reception Friday at 6:30 p.m.

MAAC is also accepting bids on its 23 painted lighthouses, which are exhibited in the twin cities until the July 29. Bids are being accepted at the bank in Menominee on the corner of 1st Street and 10th Avenue. The building also houses two-dimensional lighthouse-themed art, which may be bid on. Results of the bidding will be announced on July 29 at the bank.

The five artists from MAAC on exhibit in the TOB gallery are: James LaMalfa, Katy Harpt, Lauri Beldo, Mary Constantino and Diane Ewaldt.

The art shown includes pastel drawings, watercolors, silver gel photos, color digital photos, welded steel sculpture and acrylic paintings. Those for sale are so marked.

Menominee Class to hold 55-year reunion

MENOMINEE — The Menominee Class of 1964 will have its 55-year class reunion Aug. 3 at Murray's Irish Pub & Grille, 711 1st, St., from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be a cash bar, heavy hors d'oeuvres and dessert. The cost is $10 per person. Attendees are also encouraged to join the Waterfront Festival that will take place Aug. 1-4.

LaFave to hold office hours

MENOMINEE — State Rep. Beau LaFave of Iron Mountain announced his July office hours for residents of Menominee County. He will be at Riverside Golf Club, 3459 14th Ave., Friday from 4:30 to 5: 30 p.m.

“I am looking forward to another month of office hours,” LaFave said. “These have been an excellent way for residents to share their concerns and have open conversation about issues in the district.”
