Grief group to meet in Stephenson

STEPHENSON — The OSF HealthCare grief group will be Tuesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Menominee County Library, S 319 Railroad St.

The goal of the grief group is to provide a warm, caring and confidential environment that could allow participants to express grief with people who understand and are supportive.

MHS student receives scholarship 

MENOMINEE — Emma Louise Antilla, daughter of David and Erinn Antilia, a senior at Menominee High School, is the recipient of the annual scholarship from the Beta Sigma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. The society is an honorary organization of women educators that promotes professional and personal growth and excellence in education. Antilla, who will pursue a degree in education at Michigan State University in the fall, was presented with the award at Menominee High School's Senior Awards Night that was held May 20. 

Fishing museum to offer craft classes

MENOMINEE — West Shore Fishing Museum invites the public to take part in three Make-and-Take Craft Classes this summer. They are: Toad Houses, $20 fee, Saturday; Plate Flowers, $15 fee, July 6; and Wind Chimes, $20 fee, Aug. 17. These activities are suitable for both adults and children.

To register, people may call 906-282-2018 and leave a message with name and phone number. People are asked to register no later than the Wednesday before the class date. The fee covers all materials and instruction. Classes will take place from 1:30 to 4 p.m. in the museum pavilion.

Those taking the classes should enter the museum grounds through Bailey Park at N5146 State Highway M-35, 15 miles north of Menominee.

Alzheimer's support group to meet at night

PESHTIGO/MENOMINEE — The Care & Share Alzheimer's Support Group is a gathering for caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer's and other dementia. The group offers an opportunity for caregivers to share experiences, discusses concerns and learn about available resources in the area. 

They meet every Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Faith Church, 350 N Stephenson Ave., Peshtigo. Beginning June 26, in partnership with Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 2901 13th St., Menominee, they will meet Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Twin City Squares to hold dance

MARINETTE — The Twin City Squares will hold a dance Tuesday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Merryman School, 611 Elizabeth Ave. The caller will be Amanda Herdt. The lunch after the dance will be ice cream sundaes. The lunch committee will furnish the ice cream. Members should bring their favorite toppings or snacks to have during the dance.

Club members are reminded that dues for the 2019-2020 dance season are now due.

Rummage sale to be held at Bethel Lutheran

MENOMINEE — Bethel Lutheran Church, 1309 14th Ave., will hold a huge rummage sale Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon. There will be lots of household items, toys, children's clothing, fabric, plants and more. Fresh cinnamon rolls, baked goods, coffee, water and hot dogs will also be available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit outreach programs.
