Non-denominational grief program offered 

MENOMINEE — “A Journey Through Grief” will be at the Harbors Retirement Community, Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. This is a bereavement support group presented to people on behalf of UP Health System Hospice. This is a non-denominational support group that is open to anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one. They will provide educational materials and guide discussions on a variety of topics to assist those in the grieving process.

The group will be facilitated by Lewis Hague, UP Health System Hospice bereavement coordinator and coordinated by Gayle DeShambo, account executive for UP Health System Hospice.

This support group is open to anyone in the community that is grieving the loss of a loved one.

History museum to open for season

HERMANSVILLE — The IXL Historical Museum will open for the summer season Thursday at 12:30 p.m. Days and hours open throughout the summer are Thursday through Sunday, 12:30 to 4 p.m. Arrangements for other times or group tours can be made by calling the museum phone at 906-236-5163 or email ixlsecretary@gmail.com or wgdaniels@hughes.net.

Special activities planned for the summer include an IXL birthday party, the annual Hermansville Fourth of July celebration scheduled for July 6, a blacksmithing program, the annual August Vintage Day and a special evening musical concert with Cathy Bolton.
