Library to hold Harry Potter event
MENOMINEE — Spies Public Library, 940 1st St., will hold an event called “Harry Potter Nights” Friday and Saturday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. People may call 906-863-3911 to RSVP for either Friday or Saturday night. Second through sixth graders must sign up in order to receive a wand and special packet, but siblings and families are still welcome to attend. Attendees can come in costume.
Veterans Service officer to hold hours
HERMANSVILLE — Menominee County Veterans Service Officer Mike Dellisse will hold office hours at the legion hall March 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. Veterans or widows who need assistance, have claims, have questions about Agent Orange, headstones, grave markers; or need information about the Oscar Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iron Mountain or the Michigan Trust Fund for Menominee County, should see Dellisse. This is a free service.

PCM to have chili fundraiser
MARINETTE — People Caring More Credit Union (PCMCU) will have a chili fundraiser March 7 starting at 11 a.m. and will end when the chili is gone. The Chili Bowl fundraiser will provide food donated by local restaurants to be sold at the Marinette branch. All monies raised by the sale of the chili will be given to Abundant Life Church and Mission, to help those in need.
Abundant Life Church and Mission is a faith-based organization that provides essential needs, such as food and shelter, for both individuals and families who may be homeless because of various situations.
The community is invited to attend this event. The bowls will be $5 each and to-go containers will be available. Participating businesses include Schooner Pub and Grill, Jack’s Fresh Market, Culver’s, Schloegel’s Bay View Restaurant and more.
