Rally to be held in front of courthouse
MENOMINEE — A Sanctity of Life Rally will be held in front of the Menominee County Court House, sponsored jointly by LifeCore Inc., Menominee, and Bay Area Pregnancy Services Inc. of Marinette, Sunday at 1 p.m.
It will start in front of the courthouse, near 10th Street and 10th Avenue. There will be a prayer and an inspirational speaker, Nick Jackson Jr., Phd., author, pharmacist and counselor-pastor. It will be followed by an indoor interfaith service for the unborn including a message from Glenn Sartorelli. 
Refreshments and fellowship will follow in the church basement community room. The community is invited to attend.
LaFave to hold office hours
State Rep. Beau LaFave of Iron Mountain will hold January office hours for residents of Menominee County.
“This past year, I had the pleasure of hosting over two dozen local offices hours,” LaFave said. “Hearing from fellow Yoopers is one of my favorite parts of this job. I look forward to another great year of office hours.”

Mademoiselles plan meeting
MENOMINEE — This month the Mademoiselles will meet at Schloegel’s Bay View Restaurant Jan. 21 to 11 a.m. They will order off the menu and they will have a white elephant gift exchange. Those who want to be included in the gift exchange are asked to bring a wrapped gift and to not go out and buy anything for the exchange.
Guests and new members are invited to attend. People are asked to call 906-424-4038 by Thursday to reserve a seat.
Loom knitting to be held at the library 
STEPHENSON — The Menominee County Library will hold free classes on learning how to loom knit a hat. The hat class will meet for three sessions: Jan. 22 and Feb. 5 and 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the library.
People may call the library to reserve a loom or bring their own. After the class, knitting looms will be available for patrons to check out as part of the Menominee County “Library of Things” collection. The library welcomes donations of yarn and loom knitting equipment.

Library announces future activities 
PESHTIGO — Peshtigo Public Library is continuing its book sale through Jan. 30. People can fill a bag of books for $2 and there are many books available.
The next Book Club will meet Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. The Book Club meets in the Peshtigo Library for discussions on previously read books and to enjoy good company and coffee.
Story time at the Peshtigo Library will be coming back in February. This is a weekly, half hour program for toddlers and preschoolers along with their parents held on Fridays at 10:30 am. They will read a few stories and make a take-home craft.
Peshtigo library hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
