PESHTIGO — The Peshtigo Parks and Recreation Department announces the following programs:

■ Lil’ Dribblers Basketball is a skills and drills program for children in kindergarten to grade 3. Practices will be held Jan. 12 and 19, with games Feb. 2, 9 and 16. Kindergarteners and first graders will have the gym 10 to 11 a.m., second and third graders will be there from 11 to noon. A one-week break in the program is necessary because of scheduled gym usage. Enrollment can be done at Peshtigo City Hall with a deadline of Friday at 4:30 p.m. Cost of the program is $10 per child.

■ Men’s Open Basketball takes place every Wednesday night, open to those 16 and older, at the Peshtigo High School Gym, beginning at 6 p.m. This is a mildly competitive form of basketball, with teams formed each evening from those who attend. Basketball has already begun, but men may join at any time. Court shoes are strongly encouraged.

■ Guided Snowshoe Hiking Dates are set for Jan. 31 at 5 p.m., and Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. Anne Bartels, information and education specialist in the Marinette County Land Information Department, is leading these guided tours through Peshtigo’s newest park, River Recreation Park (the one below the dam on the east side of the river). People are encouraged to call city hall at 715-582-3041 to reserve a spot since space is limited. If people need shoes, they will be asked their height in order to have the correct size shoes. There is no cost for this event.
