IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. — The 2020 UPAALP (Upper Peninsula Association of American Legion Posts) Mid-Winter Conference will be held Jan. 17 and 18 at Post No. 50 in Iron Mountain. Registration is at 1 p.m. amd is $10 per person.

There will be dinner and joint sessions Friday. On Saturday, there will be coffee and rolls served while registration continues at 8 a.m. There will be meetings throughout the day with lunch at noon to 1:30 at the cost of $7 and a banquet dinner at 4:30 at the cost of $10.

Attending the Conference will be Michigan Department Commander, Barry Wood, Department Auxiliary President, Georgia Downs, and S.A.L. Detachment Commander, Mike Holley. Also attending will be Department Adjutant, Ron Runyan.

The Saturday banquet time has been scheduled earlier this year to allow for people to attend and be able to hear the speaker and Department leaders before heading home for the evening. There will not be a several hour gap between the afternoon meeting and the banquet. This is intended to encourage more people to stay for the banquet and support host Post No. 50.

The 2020 UPAALP Summer Convention to be held on June 12 and 13, has yet to have a host. People are asked to consider having their Post stepping forward to do so. The UPAALP pays the host Post $800 to host the Summer Convention as encouragement.
