MENOMINEE — Menominee County Intermediate School will conduct Early Childhood Developmental Screenings for children from birth through 5 (if not attending school) March 1, April 5, May 3 and June 7.

Screenings are held from 8:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Menominee County Intermediate School District, 1201 41st Ave. Arrangements can be made for children located in the Carney-Nadeau and North Central school districts. Appointments are required. People may call 906-863-5665 to schedule a screening appointment.

The screening test measures the child’s abilities based on developmental milestones in five domains: Personal-social, adaptive, motor, communication and cognitive. The procedures involve a structured test format, an interview with parents or caregivers and observation of the child. Hearing and vision screenings will also take place. Discussion of test results and recommendations for further testing or other program options complete the process.

Screening information for older individuals, ages six to 26, may be obtained from the child’s building principal or by contacting the Menominee County ISD Director of Special Education, at 906-863-5665, ext. 1012.
