MARINETTE — The Northwoods Quilters Club met Dec. 9 at Pioneer Presbyterian Church, 1947 Riverside Ave.  A potluck meal was followed by a drawing of fat quarter goodies donated by members to the raffle winners.

The quilter’s next meeting is Monday at 9:30 a.m. The program will be presented by Chris Kinderman, from Artistic Quilting, a longarm quilting service and a Northwoods Quilt Guild member. She will present a program about different kinds of batting and how to prepare a quilt for the longarm quilter. This will be followed by lunch and show ‘n share. In the afternoon, plans are to work on charity projects.

Northwoods Quilt Club is open to new members. Dues are $25 annually and the club welcomes members of all skill levels. People can find them on Facebook at “MarinetteWI-Menominee, MI Northwoods Quilters.” The club alternates morning and evening meetings to accommodate those with daytime jobs.

If either the Marinette and/or Menominee Public School districts are closed because of inclement weather, the Northwood Quilters Guild meeting will also be canceled.
