MENOMINEE — The M&M Parkinson Support Group will meet Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Harbor’s Retirement Building, 1110 10th Ave.

There are always several promising new pharmaceutical compounds “in the pipeline” or discovery or development. New natural assistance is available and the Red Horse Parkinson Alliance, in partnership with the support group, has presented a series of workshops on the superfoods that help feed the brain, keeping it at its optimum health. The group has completed two workshops and a third one will be announced. Literature on each workshop has been available for future reference and support.

This month, the group’s concentration on brain health will continue. Emily Brauman, dietitian for Bellin Health, will be the support group presenter. She will focus on understanding which food groups are most beneficial and how to recognize them while people are shopping or socializing. Information will be shared about fish choices and how to be sure a person can make the best choice. Printed information will be distributed as well as an opportunity to ask questions.

General information on Parkinson’s Disease is always available as well as an opportunity to share with other personal challenges and resources. There is no charge for support group meetings.
