MENOMINEE — The Menominee Police Department received a $1,980 grant from the Alcohol and Other Drugs Fund from the M&M Area Community Foundation. This fund focuses on programs and projects which increase awareness, provide educational materials and resources, assist law enforcement, support treatment programs as well as other needs related to alcohol and other drug abuse.

The police department will use this grant to assist with the purchase of a K-9 Containment System for its patrol vehicle. This system features the largest in class K-9 containment area that will provide the K-9 handler multiple K-9 deployment points, a prisoner transport system and a rear cargo storage unit thus ensuring a safe and secure area for the transportation of the K-9.

“It is extremely humbling to see the amount of support from our community towards our police department, and I would like to graciously thank the M&M Area Community Foundation for their continued assistance,” said Chief Brett Botbyl.
