The Marinette and Menominee Area Community Foundation (MMACF) have partnered with Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) to host leadership training for community members throughout Marinette and Menominee counties. The three session class will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesdays, Feb. 26, March 12 and April 9. The MMACF will offset the cost to participants, which lowers the price to $200 per person, for the series. Deadline to register is Feb. 11.

The Feb. 26 class will discuss “Leadership Essentials” which includes exploring behaviors and characteristics and reviewing the responsibilities of a great leader. “Communication for Leadership Success” is the focus of the March 12 class. Participants should leave with an understanding of the differences between passive, aggressive and assertive behavior characteristics. Tactics for creating a win-win communication system and exploring the consequences of non-verbal communications will also be highlighted. The final class April 9 will focus on “Critical Thinking and Problem Solving.” Attendees will learn techniques to examine a problem, explore solutions from different perspectives and review strategies to create successful outcomes.

Renée Butrym will serve as instructor for this series. She has worked as a training manager and a national marketing manager for Berkshire Hathaway. Butrym currently works as a corporate trainer for the Corporate Training and Economic Development division for NWTC. She is considered a subject matter expert for leadership, customer service and business communications.
