MARINET-TE — Students at the UW-Green Bay, Marinette Campus were honored in an online awards presentation for achievements in academics and leadership. These students were nominated to have demonstrated notable achievement or excellence in the discipline as well as exemplary efforts in student leadership.

Campus Executive Officer Cindy Bailey states, “These students have gone above in beyond in their studies and leadership both in the classroom and on the campus. We are proud to have such notable students as these at the Marinette Campus.”

The 2019-2020 recipients were nominated by professors for the following Academic Discipline Awards: Biology (Emily DeForge), Theatre (Cassidy MacArthur), English (Brittany Daigneault), English Composition (So Hee “Erin” Jung), and the Extra Mile Award — going above and beyond in the classroom and campus involvement (Cassidy MacArthur). These students showed great efforts in academics, research and leadership within their disciplines.

Each year, the Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors two awards in which students are nominated by faculty and staff for excellence in Student Leadership and Academic Achievements.

The Marinette Menominee Chamber of Commerce Student Leadership Award is given annually to a student who goes above and beyond with engagement, campus activities, clubs and events. This year’s recipient is Abby Marquardt. Outstanding leadership was displayed by Marquardt through her involvement in the Mind Body Wellness Club, Visual & Arts Club, Creative Writing Club, and also serving as a Student Ambassador and Chamber of Commerce Opportunities Expo Panelist.

The Marinette Menominee Chamber of Commerce Academic Achievement Award is awarded to a student who achieves the highest GPA per number of credits. This award was received by Sophia Dao.
