A team from Great Lakes Foods work on an assembly teamwork activity during the annual Marinette Menominee YMCA Corporate Challenge competition held May 20-24.

MENOMINEE — The local shipbuilder came out on top in this year’s annual Marinette Menominee YMCA Corporate Challenge competition.

Fincantieri Marinette Marine Corp. had 199.5 points to top the field of 20 teams. The Corporate Challenge took place May 20-24 at a variety of locations throughout the area.

Rounding out the top five teams were: Marinette County, 181; Johnson Controls Inc. (Blue), 179; Stephenson National Bank and Trust, 176.5; and Aurora Health Care, 168.

The rest of the scores include: Anchor Coupling, 164; Chem Design, 163.5; KS Kolbenschmidt, 158.5; Veriha Trucking, 156; City of Marinette, 151.5; Nu-Vu, 141.5; Winsert, 139; Bellin Health, 129.5; Marinette Schools, 118.5; JCI South (Lime), 118; Waupaca Foundry, 112.5; SPVG, 106.5; Menominee Schools, 91; Great Lakes Foods, 69.5; and Collins Aerospace, 66.

The Corporate Challenge is a friendly competition between area businesses, industries, schools and other entities such as schools and government.

Some of the events include golf, bowling, dodge ball, tug of war, scavenger hunt, obstacle course, trivia, escape room and cake decorating.
