The Healthy Youth Coalition of Marinette & Menominee Counties (HYC) was awarded a check presented by the Provident Health Foundation for $4,700 from the annual “Women, Wine and Wellness” event held in October.

The event was hosted by Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area and Aurora Bay Area Medical Group and showcased a variety of women’s health-centered services they offer. The event also provided an opportunity for local women to participate in important health screenings. Health professionals and experts were available during the event to speak with participants, and 25 local vendors were in attendance.

According to a press release from the Healthy Youth Coalition, “These proceeds are crucial to the sustainability of the Healthy Youth Coalition and will be put towards school prevention projects through local HYC subgroups, as well as larger annual programs. Since the expiration of federal funding in 2015, the coalition has been running off of donations like this to continue our efforts.”
