The University of Wisconsin Green Bay, Marinette Campus, Foundation has elected Kim Brooks to its Board of Directors.

Although born in Marinette, Brooks lived most of her life in Nashville, Tenn. She returned to the Marinette area two years ago. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and studied International Finance at The London School of Economics. She is the proprietor of Main Street Antique Mall and also the Principal of Wolfe Properties LLC.

“We are so pleased that Kim has agreed to serve on our board,” said Amy Schwaba, board president, in announcing her election. “Kim is the product of a liberal arts education and has worked in the financial industry, the political arena and the world of art. In the short time since Kim has returned to our area she has become an outstanding community leader.

With the reorganization of the UW Colleges, the foundation faces new challenges. The foundation now must work to ensure that the new administration and the governor and legislators understand how important the local campus is to the social, economic and cultural life of the community. Kim’s experience and strong leadership skills will be a tremendous asset to us as we strive to meet that challenge.”

As she steps into her role on the University of Wisconsin Green Bay, Marinette Campus, Foundation Board, Brooks says, “We are extremely fortunate to have the cultural and educational opportunities that Marinette’s UW campus provides to our community. It is imperative that we do everything in our power to enhance this asset and protect its mission for generations to come.”

The University of Wisconsin Green Bay, Marinette Campus, Foundation was established in 1974 to provide funding for student scholarships, faculty professional development and community cultural and economic development programs, not financed by public funding.
