MENOMINEE — The General Federation of Women’s Club (GFWC) of Menominee met Jan. 2 at the Riverside Golf Club for a luncheon and program featuring Linda Warren as guest speaker from the Northern Lights Master Gardeners’ Association in Marinette County. It was a packed house with 72 members and guests attending.

Many of the club’s active projects were discussed. Members were especially encouraged to support the upcoming Spring Tea which will be held May 11 at 1 p.m. at the Resurrection Catholic Church in Menominee. This biennial fundraiser is expected to be very successful again this year. All arrangements are in place for a wide assortment of delicious treats and a large number of exquisitely decorated tables. All of the proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to provide scholarships for high school seniors.

The next general meeting is Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Riverside Golf Club. The meeting will feature a program by the Rev. Dave Pennell of the Abundant Life Mission and Homeless Shelter. All members are encouraged to attend the meeting, wear red for Valentine’s Day and bring a guest.
