MARINETTE — The Marinette Senior Center, 1603 Ludington St., is offering a slate of exercise classes and learning opportunities.

■ Meet and Greet: The Marinette Senior Center will hold a Meet and Greet with the Cottages at Lake Park Memory Care, Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Cottages is a brand new healthcare facility joining the community in November 2019. It will serve the senior population who may suffer from memory loss or other forms of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s disease. No registration is required.

■ Foot Care Clinic: Nurses from Almost Family will conduct a Foot Care Clinic Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to noon, to cut and trim toenails. Foot care is offered for all, but those with diabetes will need a signed waiver. The cost is $10 per person. Participants will need to soak their feet at home for 20 minutes and bring a towel. Advance registration is required.

■ Beginner Yoga: The class is taught by Tammy Vieth, an experienced yoga instructor. Vieth teaches a type of flow yoga using slower movements and common poses. This is a good class for beginners or for those who do not want to do more difficult poses. This class meets Thursdays from Sept. 19 through Oct. 24. Classes will begin at 4 p.m. The cost for each of the classes is $16 for members and $18 for non-members.

People can join this class at any time but advance registration and prepayment is required in order to hold a spot.

■ Medicare Q&A: Katie Gouls, ADRC of Marinette County, and Olivia Cherry, Marinette County Elderly Services, will be at the senior center from 10:30 a.m. to noon. They will answer questions regarding enrollment, Medicare basics, coverage choices, SeniorCare, help for those with limited income and more. No advance registration necessary.
