The Marinette High School Class of 1969 met to celebrate its 50-year class reunion Sept. 13 for a “well-attended” class mixer at the Best Western Riverfront Inn. On Sept. 14, 100 guests came for the family style dinner which was also held at The Best Western. Sarah (Taylor) Austad and Gayle (Peterson) Gomez served as co-emcees. After welcoming classmates, they welcomed the only former teacher in attendance, Dee (O’Connell) Wilhelm, and her husband David. Austad then put on her “retired teacher’s hat” accepting trivia answers from only those classmates that raised their hands. Names of classmates in attendance were drawn for cash prizes. Music was provided by Matt Johnson, son of Classmate, Eileen (Landerman) Nicklaus. The class has decided to forgo postal mailings; using social media for future correspondence and will have a closed Facebook page “Marinette HS Class of 69”. To join the page, people may friend request any committee member. They may also contact, Jinny (Lieburn) Stewart at 715-735-7896 or benorjLnnystewart@grnail.com . Al Cisar compiled information for a first edition EBook and will compile a second edition if anyone would still like to submit their information. His contact for the Ebook is MHS196950@gmail.com.
