MARINETTE — Kevin Beattie, Facilities Manager, has been selected as Bay Area Medical Center’s Employee of the Month for January.

Beattie is a graduate of Menominee High School and has been employed with Bay Area Medical Center since 1976. He is a member of the Wisconsin Environmental Health Association (WEHA). While employed with BAMC, he has also received Service Care Awards for Making Positive First Impressions, Treating Others as Guests, Developing Service Recovery and Projecting a Positive Attitude.

As the Facilities Manager, Beattie’s daily job duties revolve around making sure the day-to-day operations of the facilities are running properly. He provides the facilities team with the knowledge and guidance needed to meet all expectations and standards for Joint Commission and all governing agencies, which helps them create the best quality of care for our patients, staff and visitors.

Tim Klein, Director of Facilities Management, said about Beattie, “Kevin Beattie is a person that will literally give you the shirt off his back if you need it. The difference with Kevin is that he would give you his shirt before you even realize you need it. Kevin’s first thought at all times is customer service, and he considers everyone his customer. He lives BAMC’s mission every day, all day. He models all seven Service Care Standards and is definitely worthy of Employee of the Month.”

When asked about being a BAMC employee, Beattie said, “I am honored to have worked at BAMC for the past 43 years, as this is not only my job, but my family. It has been a great opportunity to work with so many professional people throughout my career. BAMC has been a huge part of my life that I get to share with all of the staff, as well as my family, Ray, Jessica and Sara. It has been the best part of my life. A lasting memory that I will have is being able to help build this hospital for our community and for all to be proud of. It has been a great honor being a part of this BAMC Team for so many years: great people, great customers and great place to work.” Also, when asked what he likes best about his job, Beattie said, “I like being able to work with our staff within the facility to provide the best quality of care and safety for all of our customers. I also enjoyed getting to learn all the new technology that was implemented into the new hospital.”

Seven other employees were named Service Care Stars for excelling in BAMC Service Care standards: John Evans, RN – OPS; Julie Shaver, Respiratory Therapist – RT; Brittany Renne, OR Tech – Surgery; Dr. Alok Arora, Hospitalist; Cora Lescelius, Senior Analyst – IT; Kaitlyn Thill, CNA – Med Surg; and Ken Lesandrini, Environmental Services.

Employees celebrating anniversaries with BAMC this month include Kathy Saxton and Kathy Adams with 40 years of service; Lisa Lagassie with 20 years of service; Emily Boettcher with 15 years of service; and Lacy Schmidt and Cherish Guseck with 10 years of service.
