BAMC Employee of the month, Jennifer Hofer.

Jennifer Hofer graduated from Peshtigo High School and then went on to undergraduate and Pharmacy School at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy in May of 2010. Three years later, Jennifer obtained her BCPS (Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist), which recognizes pharmacists with advanced knowledge and expertise to optimize medication use. In addition, Jennifer is a Clinical Instructor for UW-Madison School of Pharmacy and she precepts pharmacy students throughout the year.

As a pharmacist at BAMC, Jennifer’s daily duties range from verifying medications ordered for patients, pending home medications for a physician to order, rounding with Hospitalists on the Medical Surgical unit, mixing intravenous medications, educating patients on new discharge medications and completing clinical monitoring of patients. The pharmacists also respond to medical emergencies to assist with dosing, pull up and mix medications, over-see Pyxis machine and give medication advice to other health care professionals throughout the day.
