Longtime Graetz Mfg. employee retires

POUND — Gary Polzin, a longtime employee at Graetz Mfg. Inc., has retired.

He began his employment with Graetz Mfg., on Jan. 22, 1970, working with the company founders. At the beginning of Polzin’s 44 years of employment with Graetz Mfg., he worked in the welding department, producing products used in a wide range of industries. He later became the welding department supervisor.

At the time of his retirement he held the position of company purchasing agent.

Graetz Mfg. produces the well-known Model 400 Hook & Eye Barn-Cleaner and the Model 98C Surface Drive Silo Unloader, which are sold all over the world. 

Parson joins Army’s recruiting team

MARINETTE Staff Sgt. Jerrod Parson has joined the recruiting team at the United States Army Racine Recruiting Center.
Parson will serve the Marinette community and surrounding area as a recruiter at the Marinette Center located in the Pine Tree Mall, 2800 Roosevelt Road.

He is a fire support specialist and has been in the Army for more than 11 years.

As a recruiter, Parson will provide the youth of the Marinette community and the surrounding area the opportunity to enlist in to the Future Soldier Program. The program gives young men and women the opportunity to delay reporting for basic training for up to 365 days. An enlistment in the Army gives new soldiers the chance to learn a new skill, serve their country, and become eligible to receive up to $83,448 toward a college education, $65,000 for repayment of college loans or a maximum $40,000 cash bonus.
