MARINETTE — John Reinke, chairman of the board of directors of The Stephenson National Bank and Trust (SNBT), has been appointed chair of the board of directors for the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) in Chicago. Reinke began his appointment to the FHLB in 2012 and previously served as chair of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee.

FHLB Chicago is a wholesale bank chartered by the U.S. Congress to improve the availability of funds to support home ownership. It is a member-owned cooperative serving the district of Wisconsin and Illinois. The FHLB Chicago has a mission to partner with its member shareholders to provide competitively priced funding, a reasonable return on investment in the bank, and support for community investment activities.

“I want to thank the members of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago Board and also the member banks, credit unions, and insurance companies for their support in my election. I am proud to be a member of such a distinguished organization and look forward to continuing the work that we have underway to ensure growth and stability in Wisconsin’s banking industry,” said Reinke. “The knowledge that I’ve gained from SNBT is what enables me to assist on this type of committee.”

Reinke currently volunteers at St. Vincent de Paul and serves on the board of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Foundation. He and his wife Mary, reside in Marinette and have two grown children and five grandchildren.
