Local candy store to move to Green Bay

MARINETTE — Kaye and Jerry Hughes, co-owners of The Candy Bar, 2515 Roosevelt Road, are handing over  the proverbial copper kettle and wooden paddle over to their daughter, Amy Van Vleet of Suamico. She’ll be carrying on the family tradition of candy making.

“We are happy a family member wants to keep it going making our wonderful handmade caramel, toffee, brittles, fudge and more. We’ve met so many great people at our candy store and can’t thank our loyal customers enough for all the cherished memories and years of support.” said the owners.

The Marinette location will remain open through Easter closing its doors for the last time April 24. The new location will open April 16 in The Shoppes at Lineville, 2490 Lineville Road, Green Bay, next door to The Power of Dance. Hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Easter candy will be available at both locations.
