MENOMINEE — Enstrom Helicopter Corporation delivered its  newest 280FX to the French training company, Golf Tango at Heli-Expo in Atlanta. Gérard Taunay, founder of Golf Tango was on hand, along with François Gatineau, CEO of Rotor and Aircraft, the Enstrom dealer in France.

This new 280FX will be operated from Golf Tango’s main base at Toussus le Noble, but also from its secondary base of Le Havre in Normandy for tourist flights. Heli-Club of Paris, which is a group of fanatic PPL will also enjoy that 280FX for its private flights. Between these two entities, and with the help of the Enstrom dealer, Rotor & Aircraft, the goal is to promote Enstrom Helicopters in the Paris area, and also nationwide.

“The training options along with the ability to promote Enstrom across France has us very excited.” said François Gatineau. “The 280FX unique three bladed articulated rotor system means Golf Tango will now have a new capability as compared to other local operators.”

Dennis Martin, director of sales and marketing at Enstrom Helicopter said “We appreciate the dedication of François and look forward to many more opportunities in France because of it. With its fully articulated rotor system, and turbo-charged engine, the 280FX has the safety and performance to do things other training helicopters just won’t do. This will really open up Gulf Tango’s capabilities. The training market in France was looking for an alternative to small, underpowered helicopters or helicopters unforgiving flying characteristics. The 280FX is that alternative, and now Golf Tango is giving it to them.”

Alongside this deal, the newest Enstrom Helicopter service center was announced at the expo. Copter & Boat’s Dream, also known as Copter Company in France, is owned by Eddy Pacalis and is based in Cournonsec, west of Montpellier on the Mediterranean Riviera where they maintain 30-plus helicopters including six Enstroms.

Doug Smith, director of product support at Enstrom said “We have worked with Eddy for many years, from his first training class in 1995 till now. Enstrom is excited to increase our service footprint in Europe”

Copter Company currently employs three engineers and two administrative persons. Because of its proximity to Italy and Spain, Copter has some clients outside of France, and even in French-speaking countries of Africa. Their newest Enstrom will be the 280FX that was delivered at Heli-Expo to ATO Golf Tango.
