PESHTIGO - D.J. Koronkiewicz's base hit gave the Peshtigo Predators a 12-11 Wishigan League victory over the Menominee Storm in a marathon slugfest Sunday.

There were 27 hits and five lead changes. The Storm took an 11-9 lead in the top of the 11th inning on Cody Tessmer's two-run single.

Every time the Storm struck, the Predators had an answer. Jerit Zeitler's three-run home run in the fifth gave Peshtigo a 6-4 lead. In the sixth, Cody Nielson slugged a solo homer to increase the lead to 8-4.

The Storm responded with five runs in the seventh to take a 9-8 lead. Brett Edlbeck slugged a two-run homer to highlight the big inning.

"That seventh was our best inning of the season," Storm coach Billy Betts said.

Edlbeck also slugged a solo homer in the fifth. Matt Lund tripled and scored in the fifth.

Max Hipke started on the mound for Peshtigo but was sidelined by an elbow injury in the third inning. Edlbeck started for the Storm and allowed seven runs in five innings.
