An armored Loomis cash truck was involved in a single vehicle accident around 6 p.m. Thursday on M-35 in Menominee Township, just south of Evergreen Road. According to Michigan State Police Trooper Ron Baril, the driver apparently lost control on the slippery road during heavy rain. The driver and a passenger were injured and transported to Bay Area Medical Center. The extent of their injuries was not known. Money from inside the armored car spilled into the grass and was picked up and transferred to another vehicle. The accident knocked out power to about 120 households in the area before being restored by Wisconsin Public Service.
