Two dead after Oconto County car crash

TOWN OF MOUNTAIN — Two individuals are dead after a head-on collision between a mini-van and a semi-tractor trailer in Oconto County on Friday.

Oconto County 911 received a call Friday morning with reports of a two-vehicle crash on Wisconsin State Highway 64, less than a mile west of State Highway 32 in the Town of Mountain. Law enforcement and rescue personnel arrived on scene and found a semi-tractor trailer had been westbound on State Highway 64 and a mini-van had been traveling east. The mini-van apparently traveled left of center causing a head-on collision of the two vehicles. It appears that road conditions were a factor.

Despite rescue efforts the two occupants of the mini-van were pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the semi was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
