MARINETTE — The Marinette Police Department released a notice on Thursday regarding the closing of boat launches and streets in conjunction with the Logging & Heritage Festival to be held on July 13, 14 and 15. 

Stephenson Island and its boat landing will be closed from July 13 through July 15 in order to allow for festival setup and events. 

Boom Landing will be closed from 1 a.m. July 14 until 5 a.m. July 15. 

The Menominee River will be closed to boat traffic upriver of the Interstate Bridge from 5 p.m. to midnight July 14 to allow for a fireworks safety radius. 

The Stephenson Public Library parking lot will be closed from 3 a.m. July 14 until 6 p.m. July 15 for festival activities. 

On July 15, the 6th Street boat launch will be closed from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m., Water Street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Main Street from 7th Street to Hall Avenue will be closed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the parade route. The parade will run from 7th Street to Wells Street, and will start at noon. 

Carney Boulevard and Ludington Street will be open for traffic. A shuttle bus to the festival will be dropping off visitors on Riverside Avenue near the library, and will run from Jack’s Fresh Market in Menominee from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 14, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 15. There is limited parking around the event. 

Boaters are encouraged to utilize the Menekaunee Harbor launch during the festival weekend.
