MENOMINEE — The following is a list of street closures and rerouting of traffic to accommodate and facilitate the number of persons, pedestrians and vehicles participating in the events and activities at the Waterfront Festival which will be held from today through Sunday:

¦ 1st Street from 9th to 6th Avenue will close today at 3 p.m. and reopen at the close of the festival tonight. It will again close on Friday at 3 p.m. and remain closed until Sunday evening at the close of the festival.

¦ 1st Street from 18th Avenue to the Ogden Street Bridge will have limited access on Saturday from 8 to 10:30 a.m. for the 5 and 10K walk/run.

¦ 10th St (U.S. 41) will close at 11a.m. on Sunday and traffic from the north will be rerouted on 30th Avenue to 13th Street and then across the Interstate Bridge. During the parade, the M&M Plaza can be reached by continuing over the Interstate Bridge, turning around and approaching the plaza from the south in the right lane. U.S. 41 will reopen at 2 p.m. at the conclusion of the parade.

There will be no parking on the east side of 1st Street from the American Legion building south and handicapped parking will be available on the west side of the street beginning at Doyle Drive (8th Avenue) and continuing to 6th Avenue. First Street businesses can be reached by using the parking lots on 2nd Street.

Police Chief Brett Botbyl reiterated, “Street closing and rerouting traffic is for everyone’s safety and the public’s cooperation is requested as we observe Menominee’s annual community celebration.”
