Storm causes outages throughout area

GREEN BAY — Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) crews were busy Tuesday finishing up repairs to power outages caused by strong winds throughout northeastern and north central Wisconsin.

Since 10 p.m. Monday evening, when strong winds first began to impact the service area, WPS crews have restored power to approximately 19,000 customers. About 60 customers are without power Tuesday afternoon and a WPS official said it was expected that power would restored to all remaining customers by Tuesday evening.

WPS reminds area resident that they can see photos of the damage WPS crews have encountered on the WPS Twitter account, @WIPublicService. They can also air or publish any of the photos posted on the WPS Twitter account, but are asked to provide a courtesy to Wisconsin Public Service if you choose to use them on air, in print or online.

Examples of the damage WPS crews encountered included broken utility poles, downed power lines and downed trees.
