William Robert Crane, 88, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013. Bill was born on June 13, 1925, in Marinette, Wis. to the late Richard and Martha (Brukhardt) Crane.
Bill served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He married the former Marilyn Enstrom on May 16, 1948. She preceded him in death on April 25, 2001. He worked as a parts manager at Pristel Pontiac-GMC Inc. in Marinette, Wis. from 1969 until his retirement in 1988. Bill was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Menominee and a past member of Big Brothers. He loved woodworking and spent many hours as a volunteer at BAMC.
Bill is survived by two daughters: Barbara (Tom) Doubek and Linda Bowman, both of Rockford, Ill. and one son, Steve and Cindy Crane of Menominee, Mich.; six grandchildren including: Amanda Doubek (Taha) and Jeff Doubek, Nicole and Chad Bowman and Christopher and Jason Crane; four great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends. Along with his parents and his wife, Bill was preceded in death by two sisters: Lurena Wurhman and Dolly Crabtree and two brothers: Richard and Arthur Crane.  
Funeral services for Bill will be held at the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. Family and friends may call to the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of services. Rev. Scott Ehle will officiate.
  A memorial fund has been established in Bill's name. Any expressions of sympathy and kindness may be directed to a family member.
