William "Bill" Quever, 88, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Monday, January 6, 2013 at the Wisconsin Home for Veterans in Union Grove, Wis. Bill was born on October 25, 1925, in Marinette, Wis. to the late Floyd and Laurena (Wines) Quever. He proudly served his Country in the United States Navy during World War II and in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On November 28, 1951, Bill married the former Pearl Hupp. Pearl preceded Bill in death in 2002. Bill worked as an Instrument Technician for Scott Paper Company for 31 years. Bill was a longtime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, served as Alderman in Menominee's Fifth Ward, was a Menominee County Supervisor and lifetime member of American Legion Post 146 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1887. Bill enjoyed flying with the Civil Air Patrol along with hunting and fishing.
Bill is survived by his children: Vernon Quever of Las Vegas, Nev., Grant (Sue) Quever of Burlington, Wis., and Joan (Juan Jose) Perez of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren: Joshua (Mallory) and Zachary Quever and Juan Jose (Sarah), Jonas (Lindsey) and Jamie Perez; and three great-grandchildren: Elena, Blakely, and Anniston. Bill was preceded in death by his wife: Pearl; two sisters and two brothers.
Family will receive friends on Monday, January 13, 2013, from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 12 noon at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Menominee. Reverend Lee Goodwin officiating. A luncheon will follow in the Church Fellowship Hall.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at 2 p.m. with Military Honors conducted by the 20 Year Club.
