Walter “Wally” R. Biehl, 76, of Porterfield passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018, at Rennes East with his family by his side. He was born on October 5, 1941, to the late Walter and Florence (Vickman) in Marinette.

Walter graduated from Marinette High School in 1960. He began working as a fabricator at Ansul in 1967. While working at Ansul he continued his education by attending NWTC in Green Bay for Tool & Die Making. He worked at Ansul/Tyco for 33 years until retiring in 2000.

On June 23, 1962, Wally married Mary Gruszynski at St. Joseph Church in Walsh. There was nothing more important to him than family. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, traveling, especially out west, boating, water skiing and was an automotive enthusiast and member of Corvettes of The Bay. He was a lifelong member of SS. Joseph & Edward Parish.

Wally is survived by his wife, Mary, of 55 years; son, Richard Biehl of Marinette; daughter, Amy Biehl of DePere; brother and best friend, John (Sally) Biehl of Porterfield; sister, Carol Anderson of Mission, Texas; three grandchildren: Nicole (Shawn) Streeter, Ashley (Teddy) Lentz and Zachary Biehl; two great-grandchildren: Sam and Charlotte Streeter; sisters-in-law: Patrice (Thomas) Thuemler, Peg (Brian) Johnson and Christina (Mike) Spah; brothers-in-law Stan (Paula) and Bill (Polly) Gruszynski and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother- and father-in-law, Stanley and Lorraine Gruszynski; three brothers: Frank, Dennis and Harold; and sister Evelyn Freele.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at SS. Joseph & Edward Parish in Walsh. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. with Fr. Jess Berdol officiating. Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Wally’s family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors, therapists and staff at BAMC and Rennes East and Unity Hospice.
