Wally E. Klatt, 84, of Daggett, Mich., passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Roubal Care and Rehab Center. Wally was born on May 26, 1929 in Daggett, Mich. to the late Erick and Helen (Glaser) Klatt.
Wally proudly served his Country in the United States Army from 1951 until being honorably discharged in 1954. On October 3, 1959, Wally married the former Joyce Shepherd at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Daggett, Mich. Wally was a self employed logger and cattle hauler. He loved being outside in the woods, spending time in his garden and doing carpentry work. Above all else, spending time with his grandchildren is what Wally enjoyed most. Wally was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and American Legion Post #43 of Stephenson, Mich.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Daggett, Mich.; daughter, Betty (Fred) Michiels of Suamico, Wis.; son, Philip (Sherry) Klatt of Daggett, Mich.; grandchildren: Tricia, Sarah and Tori Michiels, Ashley (Mike) Charles and Josh Neece; and great-grandson, James. Wally was preceded in death by his brothers: Karl and Art Klatt.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home after 3 p.m. until time of Military Rites at 5:15 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 6 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Reverend Paul Micheel officiating.
