VIRGINA MARY SCHETTER, 85, of Carney, MI, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.  The former Virginia Mary Berger was born on August 21, 1929, in Bagley to the late Alfred and Emma (Wagner) Berger.  
  On October 30, 1948, Virginia married Frank Schetter at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Nadeau, MI. Virginia worked in the housekeeping department at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility for 13 years retiring in 1992. Virginia also made brush blankets for Verbisky-Berger Evergreens for many years. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, playing cards and wintering in Florida for a number of years. Above all else, it was family that brought Virginia the most joy. She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church.
 Survivors include her children: Carol (Jim) Burmeister of Marinette, WI, Jane (David) Eichhorn of Daggett, MI, Larry (Sue) of Palatine, IL, Wayne (Janet) of Wheeling, IL, Kenneth (Joan) of Delray, FL and Gerald (Tuesday) of Powers, MI; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters:  Marian Verbisky of Daggett, MI, Lucille (Jim) Douglass of Amsterdam, NY and Mabel (George) Eichhorn of Carney, MI; sister-in-law,  Catherine Berger of Bagley, MI; and her canine companion,  Maude. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; son, John; and brother,  Charles Berger.
  Family will receive friends at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, after 4 p.m. until time of Prayer Service at 7 p.m.  Visitation will continue at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Nadeau on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, from 10 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Father Emmett Norden officiating.  
   Burial will follow in Nadeau Township Cemetery.
