Violet Marcella Saunier, 93, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Violet was born on January 11, 1920, in Medford, Wis. to the late Roy and Mary (Bailke) Lauersdorf.
Violet was a lifelong resident of Menominee, Mich. until her later years when she moved to Germantown, Wis. She resided at Virginia Highlands Heath and Rehabilitation Center at the time of her death, and received excellent care for the past eight years. Violet worked for Lauerman Brothers, Davis Café, and Saint Joseph Lloyd Hospital. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, cooking, and embroidering in her younger years.
Violet is survived by her daughter, June Christiansen of Germantown, Wis.; a son, Alan (Jean) Saunier of Menominee, Mich.; a son-in-law, Bill Williams of Big Bend, Wis. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Williams; a great-grandson, Michael Chapman; her sister, Betty Gokey and three brothers: Robert Lauersdorf, Curtis James Lauersdorf and Lyndahl Richard Lauersdorf.
Funeral services for Violet will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1350 Hwy. 175 Hubertus, Wis. 53033. Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Rev. Jay Thorson will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee, Mich.
