Thad Owen Eack, 77, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette, Wis. He was born in Menominee on April 8, 1941, to the late Bennie and Eugenie (Owen) Eack.
     Thad graduated from Menominee High School class of 1959. He later attended the RCA Institute and received his electronics certificate in 1971. Thad married the former Mary Marshall on Nov. 27, 1965. She preceded him in death in October of 2001. He married the former Crystal Foss on Oct. 2, 2005, in Minnesota. Thad served his country honorably in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War, retiring in 1980 after 21 years. He was a member of the 20-Year Military Club and a lifetime member of the American Legion-Menominee. He worked 25 years at KUS Industries in Marinette as an electronics engineer, retiring in 2006. Thad was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, sailing, working in his yard, and flying remote-control sailplanes.
    Thad is survived by his loving wife of over 13 years, Crystal Eack; four sons: Kenneth Eack, Jeff (Tracie) Foss, Dan (Kelly) Foss and Joe Foss; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his brother, Don Eack; and many other family members and friends. In addition to his parents and his first wife, Mary, Thad was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Cramer; and son, David Foss.
    Visitation will take place at the Cadieu Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m., with Military Honors by the 20-Year Military Club followed by services with Chaplain Don Eack, USN officiating.
    Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
