Shirley Jean Johnson, 72, of Marinette, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Bay Area Medical Center. Shirley was born on January 9, 1941 to the late Glenn and Vera (Corder) Schneider in Gary, Indiana.
Shirley moved to California as a young girl and later graduated from San Pedro, Calif. High School.  She moved to the Marinette area in 1974. Shirley enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time in the woods, hunting, and her trips to the casinos. She attended Faith Baptist Church and enjoyed working as a cook at the Cedar River Pub.
Shirley is survived by one son, Denver (Petra) McPherson of Virginia; two daughters: Leslie (Tim) Liesch of Harmony and Sharenne (Dan) Rye of Wallace, Mich; one brother, Richard (Mary) Schneider of Canada; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by one son, Glenn and a nephew Rob.
Friends may call at Thielen Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. with Pastor David Selness officiating.
Burial will be in Lost Lake Cemetery.
