Scott Arthur Wells, 50, of Minnetonka, Minn., peacefully entered Heaven on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minn. of complications from Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. Scott was born May 29, 1962, in Ridley Park, Penn., and moved to Marinette with his parents and sister in 1965.
He attended Washington Elementary, Marinette Middle and High School graduating in 1980 and graduating from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn., in 1984.
Scott was a department manager at both the Marinette and Marshfield JCPenney stores before moving to Minnesota to work with Family Hope outreach services in New Hope. He remained in the Minnesota Twin Cities until his death, last doing work for Lutheran Social Services. He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1995 and deeply appreciated the kindness and encouragement of friends and caregivers along his difficult journey. He did not let his illness define him. His sense of humor brought laughter wherever he was.
Scott is survived by his parents: Joe and Barbara Wells of Marinette; his sister, Laura and brother-in-law, David Carviou, of Marinette; nieces: Jennifer of Milwaukee, Shaniece of Green Bay, and Sarah Carviou of Marinette; uncle Walker and Ada Wells of Ocean View, Dela.; and aunt Linda McCrossan, of Seal Beach, Calif. and their families: special friends: Ron Urbanski of Minneapolis and Mark Trease of Maple Grove, Minn.
A memorial and celebration gathering will be held at a later date in Minneapolis. Donations to the Fairview MS Achievement Center, 2200 University Ave., Suite 140 St. Paul, Minn., 55114 in Scott's memory would be appreciated.
