Samuel O. Hengel found peace on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, after tragically taking his own life. Sam was 15 years old and born in Green Bay, Wis., on June 27th, 1995, to Jonathan and Ann (Clayton) Hengel. He has been raised in Porterfield, Wis. and attended Marinette High School as a Sophomore.
Sam was a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America as a Life Scout and belonged to Troop 1054 in Peshtigo, Wis. He was in Tae Kwon Do at Five Star Martial Arts and was a red belt where he had the goal of becoming a black belt. Sam also loved hunting, fishing and anything that included his family and the outdoors.
Sam is survived by his loving parents: Jon and Ann; two loving brothers: Benjamin and Daniel; grandfather, Robert Hengel Sr. of Green Bay, Wis.; uncles: Dennis Hengel of Montana; Timothy Hengel of Green Bay, Wis.; Robert Hengel Jr. of Fence, Wis.; grandmother, Patricia Boll of Manitowoc, Wis.; aunts and uncles: Edward and Susan Clayton of Ill.; Gordon and Conception Clayton of Calif.; Connie Clayton of Marinette, Wis., Larry and Elizabeth Urban of Virgina; cousins: Jadah Clayton, Daniel Urban, and numerous additional family members and friends. Sam was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marilyn Hengel.
Please join his family in celebrating Sam's life. Sam's Memorial Service will take place on Sunday, December 5, 2010, at the Blesch Auditorium, located on the corner of 13th St and 14th Ave in Menominee, Mich. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 1 p.m. Anyone who wishes to speak and share their stories and memories of Sam is encouraged to do so.
The family kindly requests that there be no photography or audio recording inside the premises.
