Rudolph Edward Gross, 85, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on April 20, 2014, at the Luther Home in Marinette, Wis. He was born January 15, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wis. to the late Stephen and Viola (Eland) Gross.
When Rudolph was 14, he and his family moved to Menominee, then in December of 1950 he joined the military and fought in the Korean War where he was a weapons instructor. After returning from the war Rudolph went to work for L.E.Jones Company where he worked for 44 years. On March 3, 1962 he married Gail LaCombe; she preceded him in death on May 29, 2007. Rudolph enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and watching his favorite TV shows.
Rudolph is survived by one daughter, Michelle (Dean) Shepeck of Menominee, Mich., two sons: Mark Gross of Menominee, Mich. and Rudy (Jennifer) Gross of Stephenson, Mich. ; eight grandchildren: Ryan, Tyler, Trevor and Deanna Shepeck, Rachael (Fiancé Louis Basinski), Tiffany, Hannah and Madison Gross,; one great-grandson, Johnathon. Rudolph was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gail; one son, Darrin; two sisters and two brothers.
Visitation for Rudolph will be Today, Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Thielen Funeral Home (1403 Newberry Ave. Marinette, Wis. 54143) from 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Vince Beckley officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
