Roy Bylund, 87, of Marinette, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay. He was born June 1, 1925, at Muskegon, Mich. to the late Rudolph and Ellen Bylund.
Roy served his country in the United States Army Air Force and Reserves from 1945 until 1952. He married the former Marva Postema on June 20, 1947. He had worked for General Motors in Detroit, Mich. as a pattern maker. Roy attended Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Marinette and was a member of the Marinette Senior Center. He loved boating, fishing, playing cards and building and flying model airplanes.
Roy is survived by his son, David, of Menominee; a grandson, Trevor and great-grandson, Talon, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; his fiancé, Elaine Richmond of Marinette; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews and friends.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marva; a brother, Rudolph; and numerous in-laws.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette after 10 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Jon Nelson officiating.
